Collection: Kaapse Baai

The first project created using an Agfa Billy camera from 1952, Kaapse Baai was developed in Cape Town in 2006.

Through a series of encounters and strolls in the townships, the work reflects a poetic and often impressionistic view of daily life. The images, intentionally rendered out of focus, evoke a sense of distance and ambiguity—mirroring the fragmented nature of memory and the outsider’s gaze.
