Domestica Reconquista

Domestica Reconquista is a poignant exploration of domestic violence—an intimate tribute to its victims and survivors. Rooted in the visual language of the past, the series employs historical photographic tools to question how our ways of seeing and representing the world evolve over time.

Created for the PS Camera exhibition—honoring the pioneers of analogue photography—the project is a collaboration between Raats and renowned photographer Paul de Nooijer. Together, they merge traditional techniques with contemporary narratives, bridging eras to reflect on the enduring power of image-making.

Internationally recognized, the series received both the Portrait Award and the Emerging Talent Award from LensCulture, underscoring its emotional and artistic impact.
