Collection: Lynn

The LYNN photo project is an ode to the uplifting 1950s, a time of regeneration and resurrection, set in the United States. After the lean years of Depression and World War II, a generation came along that seemed to have the American Dream well within its grasp. It was a time when everything seemed like a movie poster, where it rained pastel-coloured electrical household appliances, when the drive-in was in its heyday and rock ‘n roll was coming out of the closet. Of course society was still beset by poverty and racism, and women were hardly given the chance to attain fulfilment, but then again, the positive turning point was always omnipresent. LYNN, the project’s lead, is based in California and embodies the feeling of the Fifties, brought back to life. The series was photographed with an Agfa Billy camera (1952).
